Breastfeeding & Pumping Gear: Materials Guide
B’s hive stores liquid gold carefully. Your milk deserves the same.
PANEL 1
B carries a tiny golden jar.
“Liquid gold, handle with care.”
PANEL 2
A pile of single-use bags.
“Reusable glass, reporting for duty.”
PANEL 3
Mom rests while B guards the jars.
“Rest is part of the mission.”
Step by step
- Choose pumps whose milk-contact parts are BPA-free, and pump directly into glass where possible.
- Store milk in glass jars or silicone bags rather than single-use plastic when you can.
- Use a silicone manual collector (passive pump) for let-down.
- Organic cotton or wool nursing pads; skip PFAS-type ‘leak-proof’ finishes.
- Wash parts in hot soapy water; air-dry on a rack.
Study glowCDC milk storage guidance: freshly pumped milk ~4 h at room temperature, ~4 days in the fridge (CDC, current).
