First Bath, Fragrance-Free
Bees groom with their own legs — no perfume aisle in the hive. Baby’s first baths need warm water, a soft cloth, and very little else.
PANEL 1
B tests a water droplet with an antenna.
“Warm, not hot. Perfect orbit temp.”
PANEL 2
A bubble bottle shouts ‘FRESH SCENT!’
“Fragrance is a mystery mix. Pass.”

“Clean, calm, done.”
Step by step
- Sponge-bathe until the umbilical stump falls off.
- Check water about 100°F (38°C) with your wrist or a thermometer.
- Use water alone or a tiny drop of fragrance-free, phthalate-aware baby wash.
- Pat dry with an organic cotton towel; moisturize only dry patches.
- 2–3 baths a week is plenty for newborns.
Study glowAAP guidance: sponge baths until the cord stump heals; newborns don’t need daily baths.
